LA + Palm Springs Bachelorette Weekend Guide

Every March through October, a specific type of bachelorette weekend keeps showing up on our calendar: Friday in Los Angeles, Saturday in Palm Springs, Sunday brunch back in LA. It's a two-city play that maximizes what each destination does best — LA nightlife plus PS pool life plus a leisurely West Hollywood brunch on the way to the airport. When it works, it's the perfect bachelorette. When it doesn't work, the group loses four hours to I-10 traffic on Saturday afternoon and never recovers.

This guide walks through the two-city format in the order you'd actually plan it, with real times, real costs, and where to slot male entertainment on both nights.

Why the Two-City Format Works

LA for the Nightlife

Nowhere else in Southern California has the density of rooftop bars, hotel clubs, and celebrity-restaurant scenes that West Hollywood and Hollywood deliver on a Friday night.

Palm Springs for the Pool

Palm Springs is designed around the pool day. Mid-century modern rentals, walkable-to-the-pool everything, cheap group rates on 3-bedroom villas, and 100+ degrees making swimming feel mandatory April through October.

The Contrast Is the Point

Friday night neon-lit and glam. Saturday sun-drenched and horizontal. Sunday brunch chill. Each day gets a different energy, which prevents the "we did the same thing three days in a row" fatigue.

The Ideal Weekend Timeline

Friday: Arrivals and LA Night One

• 2–5 PM: Guests arrive at LAX and Burbank; head to WeHo or Hollywood accommodation.
• 6 PM: Welcome cocktails and gift exchange at the Airbnb.
• 7:30 PM: Group dinner at Catch LA, Craig's, or Gracias Madre.
• 9:00 PM: Butler service arrives at Airbnb for the pre-club cocktail hour (2 hrs @ $200/hr).
• 10:30 PM: Uber/party bus to a Hollywood or WeHo club.
• 2 AM: Back to Airbnb, in bed by 3 AM.

Saturday: The Move + Palm Springs Night

Where to Stay in Each City

LA Friday: WeHo or Hollywood Airbnb

Stay walkable to Santa Monica Boulevard or Sunset Strip. A 3–4 bedroom rental for 8–12 guests runs $600–$1,200 per night. Key features: pool, hot tub, outdoor deck for the butler cocktail hour, walkability to dinner.

Palm Springs Saturday: Villa or Mid-Century Modern

Vintage Palm Springs is the vibe. Neighborhoods to search: Movie Colony, Twin Palms, Old Las Palmas, Racquet Club. Look for pool, hot tub, at least 3 bedrooms, and a designated outdoor space that can host the show.

Alternative: Single Palm Springs Rental with Day Trip to LA

Some groups reverse it: stay all weekend in PS and day-trip to LA Friday. Works if the group is flying into Palm Springs directly. Downside: nightlife day-trip is exhausting.

The I-10 Drive: How to Not Lose Your Saturday

The single point of failure for this weekend format is the LA-to-PS drive on Saturday. Get it wrong and you burn 4 hours in traffic; get it right and it's a 2-hour drive.

Leave by Noon

Every hour after noon costs you 15–20 minutes in traffic. Leaving at 11 AM saves an hour vs leaving at 2 PM.

Avoid Peak Return Times

Sunday return: leave PS by 11:30 AM or after 4 PM. The 1–3 PM Sunday return window is the worst I-10 traffic of the week.

Van or Party Bus

For groups of 8+, renting a van or party bus is cheaper than 3 Ubers and lets the group drink and play music. Sprinter vans for 12 run $400–$700 for the round trip.

Snack Kit

Water, chips, playlist, phone chargers. Sounds obvious; almost every group underpacks.

Male Entertainment: Where It Fits

Friday: Butler in LA

The butler at the Friday cocktail hour sets the tone for the whole weekend. Two hours @ $200/hr = $400, split among the group. This is the "we're really doing this" moment.

Saturday: The Main Show in Palm Springs

Palm Springs is where the main event happens. Solo, duo, or trio (based on group size) between 8:30 PM and 10 PM. Poolside show if the villa has a covered outdoor space; indoor show if it's cold or windy.

Booking Both Days

Palm Springs Travel Fee

Palm Springs is roughly 110 miles from West Hollywood, which puts the travel fee around $615 based on our formula: (110-20)×2×$3 + 1 hr × $75. For a group willing to spend $525+ on the trio package, this is often worth it. Alternatively, some groups book locally with a Palm Springs performer for the Saturday show and book LA-based butlers for Friday.

A Real Weekend We Worked

Last May, a group of nine flew in Thursday night for a Friday-through-Sunday weekend. The bride was marrying her college sweetheart the following weekend in Napa; this was the "warm-up" bachelorette.

Friday: WeHo Airbnb, dinner at Gracias Madre, butler at 7 PM–9 PM for cocktail hour ($400), then Uber to The Highlight Room until 1 AM.

Saturday: Brunch at Zinque, left at noon, arrived Palm Springs at 2:15 PM to a Twin Palms villa. Pool from 3–7. Chef-catered dinner at 7:30. Firefighter solo show at 9 PM ($200 + $615 travel = $815, split nine ways = $91 each). Group stayed at the villa afterwards, in bed by 1 AM.

Sunday: Left PS at 11 AM, brunch at Cecconi's at 1:30 PM, LAX departures by 4 PM.

Total entertainment spend: $1,215 for the weekend, split nine ways = $135 per person. The bride said it was the best weekend of her life. Two months later the maid of honor booked her own weekend the same way.

Common Mistakes

• Leaving LA at 2 PM Saturday. Traffic will punish you.
• Booking a PS villa with no covered outdoor space. Summer poolside shows need shade or wind protection.
• Not confirming villa pool access hours. Some rentals have quiet hours starting at 10 PM.
• Trying to add a third city (Vegas). The three-city bachelorette is a death march. Stick to two.
• Not booking entertainment in advance. Palm Springs on peak summer Saturdays is not the same-day market LA is.
